What is a Jamboree?

Held every three years, the Australian Jamboree is the largest event on the Australian Scouting calendar and is often described as a true "once-in-a-lifetime" Scouting experience. From 29 December 2027 to 7 January 2028, Elmore, Victoria will become home to a vibrant city of Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders and volunteers.

A city so large it has its own:

Hospital
Post Office
Bus network
Shopping precinct
Radio station
Newspaper
Entertainment venues

And the best part? Everyone shares the same Scout spirit.

Whether you're tackling exciting on-site activities, exploring regional Victoria, cheering at arena events, or making friends from every corner of Australia, AJ2028 is an experience you'll remember forever.

Who Can Attend?

If you're eligible to attend as a Scout, AJ2028 will be the biggest Scouting adventure you've ever experienced. From thrilling activities to unforgettable arena shows and new friendships, you'll be part of something truly special.

Venturers play an important role in helping deliver the Jamboree experience. As part of the service team, you'll gain valuable leadership experience, make new connections, and enjoy the excitement of being at Australia's biggest Scout event.

Rovers are essential to the success of a Jamboree. Whether supporting activities, logistics or participant experiences, you'll be part of the team that helps create lifelong memories for thousands of young people.

Leaders and Adult Helpers

Leaders and Adult Members can attend with contingents or take on specialised event roles. AJ2028 offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a major national event while sharing in the excitement and community spirit of Jamboree.

What Do Scouts Do at Jamboree?

Tasmanian Roadshows

If you have any questions about the Jamboree there are roadshows on their way, where you can find out what the Jamboree is all about.

This is the opportunity to meet the Tasmanian Contingent Leaders in person and ask any questions you may have.

Roadshows will be held around the state in early November 2026, dates to be announced when confirmed.
