On 27 February 2010, an earthquake took place at 06:34:17 (GMT), 03:34:17 (local time). It registered 8.8 on the Ms Scale and its epicenter stroke the city of Constitución, located in Region del Bío-Bío, approximately 600 kilometers (400 miles) south of Santiago. It affected more than one third of our country’s territory, mainly where most of the Guides & Scouts Association of Chile members (girls, boys, young women, young men and adults) are located. This situation worries the Association terribly because they do not have much information about them. |
