Hellyer District takes in three municipalities on the Northwest Coast and is part of the Northwest Region.
The district is named after Henry Hellyer, Chief Surveyor for the Van Diemen's Land Company 1827-1832.
Hellyer, sometimes working alone, spent months in the bush making the first detailed maps of some 20% of the whole island.
The badge bears not only Hellyer's name but two surveyors marks, the smaller of which gives the location of the district.
Key: Joeys (J); Cubs (C); Scouts (S); Venturers (V); and Rovers (R).
